About History Alive In Schools
People remember 10% of what they hear, 30% of what they
read, 50% of what they see and 90% of what they do!

With our hands-on, interactive approach to history your pupils can become truly immersed in their history topic - enabling it to be brought ALIVE!!
We strive to both educate & entertain with the aim of stirring the children's imagination and stimulating a lasting interest in the class history project being studied and history in general.
History Alive In Schools was established in October 1997 [in response to teachers requests for living history demonstrations in schools] by Kathryn Baldwin - at that time a member of the nationally renowned Carrick 800 Battle Re-enactment Society and a Countryside Ranger/Countryside Interpreter.
Initially HAIS only offered a couple of displays but our knowledge & historical collections have grown significantly allowing the development of several presentations covering a range of different topics.
Our displays have been taken from our base in South Ayrshire out & across Scotland with displays in schools being given as far south as Annan & north to Loch Lomond and Alva. Our displays have also featured in the programmes of After School Clubs, Summer Playschemes, Adult Special Needs Groups and Museum Exhibitions.
